If you believe that Jesus was God or had some divine power then he chose Judas Iscariot knowing that he was a greedy man who would sell him out for some silver in the end but his end goal was to get sold out and crucified anyway so he needed one of his close confidantes to betray him. He did not ask Judas Iscariot to sell him out but did Judas have any other destiny? Will Judas be cut some slack in the afterlife because his nature was known and he was essentially taken advantage of by God?
